What Does a Lighting Designer Do for My Show?
- I design the mood, focus and pacing around the script and the director's staging.
- I draw the light plot, channel hookup, patch and cue structure your crew hangs and focuses from.

Lighting Design Questions
How much does lighting design cost?
Lighting design starts at $125. The final price depends on the size of the rig, the number of cues and how many tech and performance days you need me on site. Tell me about the show and I'll send a quote within 24 hours.
Do you work with community and school theatres?
Yes. Most of my credits are community, school and college productions, so I'm used to working with the rig and the budget a venue already has.
What lighting console do you program on?
ChamSys MagicQ. I can build and pre-visualize the showfile before load-in, so most of the cueing is done before you're in the theatre.
Can you run the light board for performances?
Yes. I can design the show and hand off the showfile to your operator, or stay on as programmer and operator through tech and the run.
Do you light concerts, churches and corporate events?
Yes. Besides theatre I've lit ballet, concerts and a church install, and I work events as an AV technician at Grandover Resort & Spa. For parties and weddings, my DJ packages include dancefloor lighting and uplights.
